Anker is best known for phone chargers and power banks. Anker Innovations was founded in 2011 by Steven Yang in Shenzhen, later moved its headquarters to Changsha in Hunan province, and is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Besides chargers it runs the eufy smart home and soundcore audio brands.
Anker SOLIX is its energy brand, launched in 2023 to replace the PowerHouse portable power stations sold since 2016. It covers portable power stations, balcony solar batteries and whole-home storage, and the SOLIX X1 home battery system won a Red Dot design award in 2024.
Two very different products carry an inverter. The SOLIX X1 is a whole-home storage system with a three-phase hybrid inverter, the X1-H10K-T or X1-H12K-T (10 or 12 kW), paired with Anker batteries. The Solarbank line is plug-in balcony storage: the Solarbank 4 E5000 Pro combines a 5 kWh battery, four solar inputs of up to 1,250 W each and a 2.5 kW output in one unit.
In the X1 codes, the number is the AC power in kilowatts and the T marks the three-phase version.
Consumer-friendly design: Anker brings the app-driven, plug-and-play approach of its chargers to home energy, and the Solarbank is built for balconies and small roofs where a full rooftop system will not fit. The trade-off is experience. The SOLIX home range only dates from 2023, so it has a shorter track record than long-established inverter brands.
The two products need opposite approaches. The X1 behaves like a normal three-phase string hybrid: 1,000 V maximum, a tracking window of 140 to 950 V and 16 A on each of two trackers. Strings of up to about 17 typical 50 V panels are possible, but 16 A is below the operating current of 210 mm cell panels, which will be clipped.
The Solarbank 4 E5000 Pro never takes a series string. Each of its four inputs accepts a panel whose open-circuit voltage stays under 60 V, tracks between 16 and 50 V, and takes 36 A with a 45 A short-circuit limit, so one, two or three panels can share a port in parallel.
