Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Solar Stack. By accessing or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By using Solar Stack, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Solar Stack is a free online tool for checking the electrical compatibility of solar panels (PV modules) and inverters. The service calculates voltage and current values at temperature extremes and compares them against inverter specifications. The service also provides PDF datasheet extraction to populate equipment databases.
Solar Stack provides calculations for informational and educational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy based on IEC 62548 and NEC 690.7 standards, the results should not be used as the sole basis for installation decisions. Always consult a qualified solar installer or electrical engineer before proceeding with any installation. We are not responsible for errors in uploaded datasheets, incorrect user inputs, or any damages resulting from reliance on calculation results.
Solar Stack is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to equipment damage, installation errors, or financial losses. The total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service (which is zero, as it is free).
You retain ownership of any data you upload or enter into Solar Stack, including equipment specifications and calculation parameters. By uploading datasheets, you confirm that you have the right to use them. We may process uploaded PDFs through our extraction pipeline, including sending content to third-party AI services for data extraction.
The Solar Stack application, its design, code, and methodology are protected by intellectual property laws. Equipment specifications in the database are sourced from publicly available manufacturer datasheets. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the application without permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the service for any user who violates these terms, abuses the service (e.g., excessive API calls, automated scraping), or engages in activity that disrupts the service for other users.
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
