enerQi Solar Inverters

enerQi ESS GmbH describes itself as a German-Chinese technology company. Systems are developed in Germering, just west of Munich, and built in China, and the product line covers three parts of a modern home energy system: enerStorage hybrid inverters and batteries, enerHeat heat pumps and enerCharge EV chargers. Germany is the main market, with a German support team and products set up for German grid rules. Public information on the company’s history is limited.

enerQi inverter range

The enerStorage inverter is a three-phase hybrid in three sizes — 12, 18 and 24 kW, coded EQ-ES-INV-3P-12K and so on — each with four maximum power point trackers (MPPTs), IP65 protection for outdoor mounting and a listed ten-year warranty.

What enerQi is known for

enerQi sells through installation partners, offering them a swap service for warranty cases, and pitches the combination of storage, heat pump and charger from one supplier. Outside Germany, check what local support is available before you buy.

Matching panels to an enerQi inverter

The enerStorage inverters allow 1,000 V and track from 120 to 950 V, a wide window that suits anything from a short garage-roof string to a long one. Twenty 41 V panels reach about 900 V on a −10 °C morning, safely under the limit. The constraint is current: each of the four trackers takes 16 A, fine for 182 mm-cell panels but below the 17–18 A of 210 mm-cell modules, and too little for two strings in parallel.
