LG Electronics Inc. is a South Korean multinational electronics manufacturer founded in 1958 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. Within its energy business the company produced residential energy storage systems (ESS), including the DC-coupled three-phase LG ESS Home 5 (PCS model D005KD1N111), a compact hybrid inverter that combines two PV MPPT inputs, a lithium-polymer battery and grid feed-in in a single stainless-steel enclosure. The ESS Home 5 reaches up to 97.7% PV-to-grid conversion efficiency with a transformerless three-level topology, an expandable 6.4-12.8 kWh battery and built-in web and smartphone monitoring. Its power conditioning system carries IEC/EN 62109-1/-2, VDE-AR-N 4105 and VDE 0126-1-1 certifications and a 10-year warranty on both the inverter and the battery. LG Electronics also manufactured the high-efficiency NeON solar panels until exiting the solar-module business in 2022, and remains one of the world's largest electronics groups, serving customers in over 100 countries.
