MasterPower is the in-house brand of Master Battery, S.L., a Spanish energy equipment company based in Móstoles, near Madrid. Under the MasterPower name it sells inverters, battery chargers, power supplies, solar charge controllers and EV chargers. The company publishes little about its history or where its products are designed and built, so this page sticks to what the catalogue and datasheets show.
The MasterPower solar range is split into three families: Omega off-grid inverters (Omega PMS, UM, X, TOP and PRO), Beta grid-tie inverters in single-phase and three-phase versions, and hybrid models under the Beta RHI, Alpha and RHO names. The models listed here are the Omega PMS v4, all-in-one inverter-chargers for 48 V batteries rated 3.6 and 5.6 kW, each with a built-in MPPT solar charge controller.
The Omega PMS v4 accepts at most 450 V of PV input and tracks between 120 and 430 V on a single tracker. A string’s open-circuit voltage climbs on a cold morning, so with large panels rated near 50 V open-circuit, eight in series is the practical ceiling. On a hot afternoon the string must stay above 120 V, which means at least four panels, or five with smaller ones.
The input takes 18 A, enough for one string of modern panels but not for two large-format strings in parallel. With one tracker, all panels should face the same way. The string calculator checks your panel and Omega model for cold-weather voltage, the MPPT window and current.
