Founded in 2022, Xiamen Sossen Energy Co., Ltd. is a young microinverter specialist based in Xiamen, in China’s Fujian province. The company reports more than 300 staff, including over 50 in research and development, exports to more than 25 countries, and keeps a warehouse in Germany to serve European customers. Besides microinverters it sells balcony solar kits, balcony batteries and hybrid inverters. Independent coverage of the brand is limited, so the datasheets are the main guide.
The models listed here are four-in-one single-phase microinverters rated at 1.6, 2, 2.2 and 2.4 kW. One unit serves four panels, each on its own input with its own maximum power point tracker, so shade on one panel does not drag down the other three. Mounting one box for four panels also means fewer units and connectors on the roof than with one microinverter per panel.
No string sizing is needed; instead, each panel must fit one input. Every input accepts up to 60 V and tracks between 20 and 55 V. Most residential panels, with an open-circuit voltage of about 37–50 V, fit, but a 144-cell panel near 50 V leaves little margin on a frosty morning, when voltage rises above the datasheet value.
Current per input is 16 A on the 1.6 and 2 kW models and 20 A on the 2.2 and 2.4 kW models, so the larger units are the better match for panels with 210 mm cells. Then check power: a 2 kW unit shares its output between four panels, 500 W each, so larger panels will be capped at midday.
