Maxeon Solar Technologies was spun out of SunPower in 2020 and is headquartered in Singapore; its cells are the back-contact design that gave the technology its reputation. In an IBC cell all the wiring sits on the rear, so nothing shades the front — that is where the extra efficiency comes from, and it also means there are no thin metal fingers on the surface to crack. Each cell sits on a solid copper foundation rather than the brittle ribbons used in conventional panels, which is why Maxeon backs the Maxeon 7 range with a 40-year product and performance warranty, roughly a decade longer than the industry norm. Two Maxeon 7 products share the same cell but are wired very differently: the 120-cell SPR-MAX7 delivers 465-475 Wp at around 38 V and 12.5 A, while the 112-cell SPR-MAX7-PT reaches 435-445 Wp at about 71 V and 6.2 A — worth checking against your inverter's MPPT window, since the two behave nothing alike in a string. Both reach roughly 24 % module efficiency, among the highest available for a residential roof.
