Solar Yield Estimator

Estimate how much energy your solar system will produce each month based on location, orientation, and system size.

Location

Click the map or drag the marker to set your location.

System size
kWp

Total peak power of your solar panels at STC conditions. Example: 10 panels × 500 W = 5 kWp.

Panel orientation
180° (S)
NESWN

Direction your panels face. 180° = South (optimal in the Northern Hemisphere).

30°
Flat (0°)Vertical (90°)

Angle of your panels from horizontal. Typical roof pitch is 20–35°.

Set your location and system size to see the production estimate.

How the solar yield estimate works

This tool estimates monthly and annual energy production for a grid-connected PV system at any location. It uses real historical irradiance data from the PVGIS-ERA5 database maintained by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.

The estimate accounts for your panel orientation (tilt and azimuth), system size, and typical losses from wiring, inverter efficiency, soiling, and temperature effects.

How to use the estimator

  • Set your location by clicking the map or dragging the marker
  • Enter total system peak power in kWp (kilowatts-peak at STC)
  • Adjust the azimuth — the compass direction your panels face (180° = South)
  • Adjust the tilt angle — how steeply your panels are angled from horizontal

What affects solar production?

Solar yield depends on geographic location (latitude, climate), panel orientation, shading, temperature, equipment efficiency, and system losses. This estimator provides a good starting point — actual production may vary due to local weather, shading, and equipment-specific factors.

Check string compatibility

Verify if your panel-inverter configuration is safe and within limits.

Find compatible panels

Search all compatible solar panels for your inverter.
